I believe the most important things in life are caring for others and your health: everything else is secondary.

I believe the most important qualities are kindness and compassion.

30y, postgraduate professional, caring and kind, with good sense of humour. I like cinema, photography, design, writing, music, swimming and walking.

I wouldn't describe myself as strict but I believe having some faith is important in life. I also believe in being respectful to all faiths, especially living in a secular society like the UK.

I have stated 'revert' because I am at a stage in my life when I am realising (again) that faith is important.

My family is really important to me - in the UK I have a sister and my parents. I would want my future husband to get to know my family.

I was engaged before - to a Scottish man - but it didn't work out because, it came to light we wanted different things for our future.

I feel a bit like I am between two different cultures - I might be too Eastern for someone born in the UK, or too Western by other people's standards. It just depends what your background is and what qualities you regard as important. I was born in the UK, but my family originate from Iraq. I try not to lose sight of how lucky I am to have grown up in a place of peace and prosperity, and to have studied at excellent universities, but I am naturally very sad for my homeland. Strange to be nostalgic for a place unseen, but this is part of cultural identity and heritage.

I am working freelance at the moment and looking for a full-time role so possibly moving this year.
